Parental Engagement
A safe place to feel accepted, listened to and happy
We recognise that you know your child best and by working together and listening to you is how we can achieve the best outcomes for your child. It is by collaborating, sharing ideas and allowing your child to have a voice that we help your child to thrive whilst support you as a whole family.
Listen – Believe – Advocate – Collaborate – Validate
How do we involve our families?
You know your child best and we know that it is our job to find out about your child and communicate with you. We have excellent, trusting relationship with the families of our young people.
We know the value of regular, honest communication between home and Corfe Valley and understand the needs of your child will constantly be changing.
We have introduced parental engagement events – such as our wreath making coffee morning – to allow parents to meet and chat, ask us questions, showcase their children’s work and be invited to something positive!
What does this look like at Corfe Valley?
- Regular two way communication – often daily
- A listening ear with no judgement
- Weekly progress reports with photographic and written evidence
- Parental engagement events
- Clear lines of communication
- A consistent approach between home and our setting
- Parental feedback surveys

“I just want to say a massive thank you to you, you honestly don’t know how much it means to me. I honestly don’t know where we would have been today if it wasn’t for your help and support, not only to my child but myself as well.”
“I just wanted to say a massive thank you for today. It was lovely spending time, meeting some of the other parents properly and getting to chat to them. Especially to share some of the experiences we have all had. Thank you so much!”
